On Thursday 24th March the Year 10s watched a performance of a powerful new play, ‘Going to Extremes’ by the theatre company Alter Ego. The play, which was developed with Leicestershire County Council and Alter Ego, contributes to the government’s agenda of safeguarding people from the threat of terrorism. It raises awareness of the risks young people can face and promotes the discussion of difficult themes in an engaging way.
The play consists of three character narratives two of which focus on religious extremism and outline how two vulnerable young people are enticed to join radical groups and a third which explores how a young person may be drawn into right wing extremism.
Many thanks to Alter Ego for bringing this to The Cedars Academy.
