Homework

At The Cedars Academy, we believe that homework is an essential part of the learning process. It helps pupils to revise and consolidate content taught in lessons, practise key skills, and build upon learning in class. Research shows that the consistent completion of homework can have a significant positive impact on pupil progress and examination outcomes.

Alongside homework, we encourage all pupils to read regularly for pleasure, whether this is fiction or non-fiction. Regular reading helps to develop literacy, broaden vocabulary, and improve communication skills across the curriculum. We are fortunate to have a well-stocked library with a wide range of books available for pupils to borrow and enjoy.

The first place to check for homework is Beehive, where pupils and parents can find details of tasks, submission deadlines, and any additional guidance required to complete the work successfully. Pupils who demonstrate commitment and effort in completing their homework will be recognised and rewarded, while those who do not meet expectations will be sanctioned in line with the policy outlined below.
