ABOUT THE CEDARS ACADEMY - info for journalists
The Cedars Academy is an 11-18 academy in Birstall, Leicestershire educating around 1000 pupils from secondary through to sixth form and employing circa 120 staff. Its sixth form provision is known as Cedars Martin. The Cedars Academy is also home to ‘Endeavour’, a specialist provision for pupils from across the county who have social, emotional and/or mental health needs.
The Cedars Academy joined Lionheart Educational Trust in 2015 and is led by James Rolfe, Associate Principal, and Laura Sanchez, Executive Principal. In 2023, the school received a ‘Good’ judgement in its Ofsted inspection.
