This course is for those who can see themselves working with a range of different people such as those with mental health needs, vulnerable adults or children, learning difficulties, caring for the elderly or disabled, or those who have had an accident or experienced trauma. The health and social care sector employs vast numbers of people across the country within a varied range of job roles with the workforce totalling around 3 million people. Many careers involve meeting the needs of people across all life stages and with varying levels of needs.

Topics may include:

  • Building positive relationships in health and social care
  • Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
  • Health, safety and security in health and social care
  • Anatomy and physiology for health and social care

 

CAREER PATHWAYS IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE

This provides a strong base for progression to apprenticeships, work or university. The course can lead to future careers in Nursing, Mental health nursing, Social work, Teaching, Youth work, Play therapy, Counselling, , Care work (learning difficulties, elderly, dementia.
