Key Stage 3
KS3 vocabulary
A strong vocabulary is vital at key stage three. A grasp of subject specific terms allows students to speak the 'language' of their subjects, and learn more effectively. We teach and test vocabulary regularly, and we encourage students to be practising this at home. Linked below are the vocabulary lists for years 7, 8 and 9. Students should use these lists to learn and practice the key words and phrases needed in these subjects.
Students can also practice these words using our online vocabulary flashcard system. This is an activity that parents and students can do together. It does not require a login and can be accessed from any PC or device. You can access this system at https://vocab.lionhearttrust.org.uk. We have also produced a quick video to explain how this system works, which you can find here: Lionheart vocabulary learning platform
It was great to see many parents at the recent y7 parent information evening. The slides used for the evening are available here: Y7 parent information evening
