Fantastic fundraising from sixth form students
We are incredibly proud of our Post-16 students at Cedars Martin Sixth Form, who organised and hosted their own Macmillan Coffee Morning this term, with the aim of raising as much money as possible for the charity.Staff and students were encouraged to wear something green – the charity’s signature colour – and a coffee and cake stall was set up, with sweet treats flying off the shelves. In fact, the stall proved so popular that students had to replenish their stock at the end of break!
The event raised over £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support, a substantial increase on last year and a reflection of the hard work of our students.
We were also delighted to welcome two Macmillan volunteers into school. They shared stories about the charity’s work and explained how donations support those who need it, giving our students a real sense of how their efforts make a difference.
Dan Thomas, Assistant Principal and Head of Cedars Martin, said: “I am incredibly proud of the charity and local community work Cedars Martin students have been involved in.
“A huge thank you also to the Macmillan volunteers who came into to 'accept' our cheque donation too - it was brilliant for our students to see first-hand how the money they raised would directly help those most in need.”
